		<description>the site has been recognized by heritage canada for a while. the canadian government announced its _intent_ to make pier 21 a federal museum in june 2009, but this does not necessarily mean it will happen, or what changes it will entail. the pedagogy that exists at the museum right now has problems of its own and it will also be interesting to see what effect federal status will have, again, if any.</description>

I wonder what the museum was like before the federal government endorsed it... if there were different stories captured.</description>
